Assunta C. Cuyegkeng

Dr. Assunta Cuyegkeng is a professor at the Department of Leadership and Strategy of the John Gokongwei School of Management at the Ateneo de Manila University. She is also the Director of the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability, the Director of the ASEAN University Network on Ecological Education and Culture (AUN-EEC), Chair of the Leadership Council of Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Philippines, and the Managing Editor of the Journal of Management for Global Sustainability. Her current research and teaching interests include leadership, strategy, and sustainability of social and micro-enterprises.

She was the former Vice President for the Loyola Schools of the Ateneo de Manila University, taking charge of operations from 2006-2010.

She obtained her doctoral degree in chemistry from the University of Regensburg in Germany, and her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemistry from Ateneo de Manila University. She has written on polymers, science education, environment, quality assurance, and leadership. Her literary essays, poems, and Filipino translations appear in various anthologies.

 

 

 

Christian Göbel

Christian Göbel is professor of Modern China Studies at the University  of Vienna, Department of East Asian Studies. A political scientist and  sinologist by training, his research is concerned with the adaptability  of the Chinese Party-State to social, economic and political challenges.  He is especially interested in the effects of digital technology on  local governance in China. Christian has been awarded a Starting Grant  by the European Research Council to research the interrelationship between popular protest, online participation and public policy in China. His publications include books and articles on popular protest, e-government, digitalisation and urban and rural politics in China.

He obtained an M.A. in Political Science and Modern China Studies at Heidelberg University, a PhD in Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen, and served as a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for East- and South East Asian Studies, Lund University.
