MATERIAL BANK
Welcome to the Material Bank!
What?
The Material Bank is an open database designed to help and support East and Southeast Asian studies. The Bank is a web-based open site, which gathers various source materials for educational and research purposes.
The Bank operates under the concept of openness. Everyone involved in the field is free to utilise the contents of the Bank's vaults and is invited to contribute to them. Materials linked outside this website may contain material with different copyright conditions.
Why?
The problems of availibility of study and research materials and their copyrights are known to everyone involved in studying and doing research on East and Southeast Asia. The Material Bank seeks ways to to overcome these problems by making various materials available for the research community. For example, every one of us has fotos, maps, diagrams, tutorials, etc., which could be useful for other researchers and students. By sharing these through the Material Bank one makes the whole community's work easier and more fun.
Who?
The Material Bank is managed by AsiaNet, a virtual education programme and a part of the Virtual University of Finland.
