Structure: Overview of Asian language situation in general and in specific cultures and the interrelation between language and culture will be introduced. Asia, Asian identity and cultural factors in Asian communication will also be discussed. Basic Asian values and their dynamics and changes are introduced from the intercultural communication perspective. A particular focus is on interaction between Asians and Westerners in professional and social contexts.
