Content: The polity, national policies, politicking and politicization moves in geopolitical space of East Asia. Lectures deal with various conceptualizations of East Asia in history and in recent politics, concentrating, however, on the traditional triangle of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese polities. Parts of the lectures analyze the region in traditional theoretical tools of international politics, but the perspective is widened to demographic politicizations, politics of memory and rhetorical politicking. Target Group: The students of the Network member universities are eligible to apply. The course is recommended for advanced level (MA) students.
